looks like a flashy thing.. not sure what to say. We need more to work with to provide much feedback. I suggest trying a more challenging animation next which has more frames.

It looks like a box or card or an inanimate rectangular object that shall remain unnamed with a small, blinking light on the corner.

Ionno, you could try giving it some time before it blinks again.

I wouldnt call it a spark, it's more like a glint. If you wanted a spark i'd use some reference. The glint isnt bad, but it seems unfinished, it cuts out rather quick so i'd fix that and as Razz said, give it more time before it restarts.

Instead of just fading in and out, rotating it will also help to make it look like a spark.

Are you trying to make actual sparks here, or something that's you're calling a spark :X

Last time i saw sparks was from a buzzsaw cutting into some metal, and it looked a lot more like this.

I'd say the best thing to do is to go grab a few refences for the kind of sparks you want.

(i'll note i cheated on the above, using the 2 pixel diagonal brush, so it's a relatively quick effect to create, allowing me to recommend many frames of animation :P )

I would make it white ... red makes it look more like a light/LED than anything.  Also, before "sparkling", have it run up the side of the box, then kind of rotate/explode (difficult to explain) before disappearing completely.
