Here we go again. Doesn't work anymore? Now for me, it says I am forbidden to enter. You should use imageshack or filespace.

EDIT: I see the image. Well the thing is he should have some shading into him.

It works if you copy&paste or drag-and-drop.

ok didn't change the shading but i did up the contrast.  this is a base for a hero for a top down shooter,  by the end there will be 8 directions and 3 male characters.

You say this is for a top-down shooter?  This sprite doesn't look very top-down, unless the guy is lying on the floor.  Top-down shooters, unless they're in space, tend to show the head and shoulders.  As seen from above.  Thus, top-down.  Also, his arms look a bit small ;-)  But I'm sure you'll fix that in a soon update.  Color-wise, he still wants more contrast; some hue shifts may help the palette a bit.  Overall, I must say that it's better than the stuff I made after not pixeling for a year.  Keep it up!

yeah, i am having trouble with the perspective.  can anyone help with that?  top down, like final fantasy, not space invaders, but bigger.  any tips ot that?  this may turn out to be a dead sprite before i pose him.

This image came from a quick google search for "top down shooter".  It sounds like you're not trying to do top down, rather 3/4 view, such as Zelda or SNES RPGs.  If that's your goal, the sprite is way too tall.  This sprite would be great proportion-wise for a side-scroller, but that's apparently not what you're trying to make.  So if you aren't trying to make a side-scrolling sprite, this sprite is rather incorrectly proportioned.
