School Project.

on: January 16, 2009, 10:57:04 am
Hey everyone.
I have a school project of making a flash game with pixel graphics. At the moment we're doing it a fighting game, but I'd like it to be some kind of platform/action game. Anyway..

The main character is a Zombie, and he looks like this:

Basicly I don't think he turned out that good, and I need some helpful criticism (this is my first pixel character).

And here's a little monster I made.

PS. I know the Zombie's stance is animated too fast and looks wierd.

Edit: Found the walk animation.

This isn't so much a comment on your art itself but rather your concept-- If he's a zombie, I think it would better if he was kind of dragging his weight rather than walking briskly, y'know? Also maybe add some rotting flesh type stuff.

But for a first character this is good! : D  Welcome aboard the S.S. Pixelation.

That's true, but I worry how he will look jumping.. but I'll try that. Thanks  :)

Actually, I think my teacher wanted the main guy to actually have a walk cycle, so I'm thinking of making the zombie a enemy instead.

Since a zombie isn't a realistic creature, but rather a made up view, anyone could claim any object is infact a zombie, but most people would say no. They'd expect some kind of ravaged or really messed up human which is slow and clumsy.

Regulus is right - your character is no traditional zombie. I've never noticed a pink zombie with intact flesh, good clothes and completely clean, so people would have trouble accepting him as a traditional zombie. Atleast, without some kind of story behind it.

Without the red eyes, he'd pass more as human then zombie in my mind.
