Futuristic energy core...thing

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but the world cannot lure me away from pixel art for long. I've been finding myself working on a tileset each night after work, something I imagine would suit a futuristic sort of shooter, be it platformer, side scroller or vertical shmup. I finished up one section of tiles just now, and thought I'd offer it up for your thoughts;

I am not sure about the colours of the edges, this depends on the surroundings of this thing, but the middle looks awesome.
