Cyberpunkable characters [WIP, C+C]

on: September 05, 2011, 12:03:17 pm
These characters might or might not get used in a platform game by the same guys with whom I'm working on ITD++

I'm pretty satisfied with the detective, except for the shoes, although I'm sure you can rip it to shreds

But the psychic girl, although I do like the desing, feels... too dull, I can't come up with details for the coveralls or anything. Any suggestions?

Are they really meant to be so dark?
They're too dark AND saturated in my opinion, if they have to be so dark (for game mood needs) at least you should lower the saturation a bit!

Actually, after doing some testing in photoshop, they're way too dark for a dark background too xD They blend too much..

Btw, don't use pillow shading!

It's not like I'm making it pillow-shaded on purpose! X_D

Thanks for the tips, already tweaked the palette.

Now I'm going to remake the girl with reference from Posemaniacs and proper lighting.

Well, not right now, when I've had lunch
%D

Had lunch. Going to rework the girl.

Ok, does this lights and shadows pattern make any more sense?

Pose reference: http://www.posemaniacs.com/archives/1513

Her hair is currently stupid but no big deal. I should come up with a more imaginative hairdo anyway.

Thats a lot better. Though i find it Hard to put both chars in the cyberpunk cathegory.
at least the detective. I like the develop on the psycic woman, but i think you need to make the Guy
Slightly more interesting.

Looking forward for more updates

Well, this is much more stylish but, know what?

It doesnt' satisfy me AT ALL  :-\ Besides the exercise and the lighting *pattern*

It doesn't feel physical at all. I don't know how the heck I'm going to add any details to it. It was fun doing it but it just feels wrong somehow.

I'm going to take the pose and lighting from this version and try to give it a finish closer to that of the first one.

Dunno what your seeking for but first and second poses are dull and highlightning is over used specially on face with your second attempt, design is cool tho

was going to finish that edit but ran out of time hope it gives some ideas

Oh, that was the official version, Psi? I thought it was a WIP!! If so, there's too much green highlighing, especially on the face (the dress could be ok, if it's latex or something)

The third one, but as I said it's not staying like that :(
