Tiny Adventure Sprites[WIP]

So uh, I made some sprites for an adventure game

c&c greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert, but in my opinion there's too much contrast.
In the fourth sprite, for example, i mismatch the shaded brown of the trousers for the black of the boots.

Well uh I changed the contrast only a bit and for some sprites (first and last one) I didn't change it at all because I thought they'd have the right amount of contrast.
Also, idk about the outlines, I tried changing the contrast but I like the way it is :x

Anyways, the only other thing I see is that they appear to be rather flat, lacking volume and a consistent lightsource; here's a quick edit:


(only messed around with the first three. I don't know if you would want to mix the colors between sprites like I did, but you didn't mention any restrictions)

It's the same as yours, with the same colors & colors count, but i lowered contrast a bit.
Also, check out Sinistral Erim's edit about lightsources & flatness

Quick edit, just to try make it less flat.

I was guessing your light source was center above. I'm not happy with the way I did the shirt, anyway hope this helps.
