Wobbley Biker

on: February 11, 2007, 03:46:38 am
Recent animation of mine. The character was made for a commercial game, but I didn't get the job. Oh well, they said the next game they are making I'd be perfect for and promised the gig to me.

Looks best at 2x. I think I need to add something to the right to offset the powerlines and pop the powerlines out more. I originally had his head tilt along with the rest of him, maybe I should go back to that? His legs... need help.

Looks really smooth. This would look great in a 'avoid the traffic' sort of game. just has a lot of life and character, great job in my opinion.

His feet look pretty big to me. Looks like he's walking rather than riding. Like a kid on a bike that's too small or something. Some texture on the tire to show movement would be nice, too. Cool, though.

I agree that it looks quite a bit like he is walking the bike, removing the final frame of each lean (and the following return frame) gets rid of the walk like portion, but it also takes away form the image quite a bit.  You could try reducing the size of the feet, but i think making them a bit higher might work as well.

I don't think that's his feet... It looks to me more like the bike's pipes...

Yeah, the light gray is twin pipes. His feet are the black things on the end of the ridiculously short blue pants. Maybe the devs were confused too...

Oh, I get it now. Like Xion said, some texture would be nice on the tire. It looks like it's going kind of slow, but it looks fine to me.

Those are pipes?
Oooohhh...
I see it now.
Well, maybe you should give 'em some exhaust holes and make 'em a bit straighter? I mean, they look pretty foot-shaped to me.
