looks pretty cool, but it'd be nice to see it at 1x zoom. This forum has an automatic zoom function, so... no need to submit at 2x or whatever.
Also, I'd ditch the gradient background (pretty weak crit, I know, but it's all I've got atm).

Whatever the purists tell you, don't ditch the gradient if all you are going to do is dither it. Your style is realistic, so it fits right in.
That said, I see a lot of harsh pixels that stick out at the edges, fix those suckers up

Needs some eyes, right now they're just empty soul-less beads.
There's a nice subtle texture you have going around most of the face.

the eyes are dark because the reference were dark too, I didn't know how to make them look good.. it took me many time to get the eyes I have now ^^"
I'll remove the gradient on next pixel art I submit then
btw, here's the reference:

Hello. I hear pixel art is about the precise manipulation of single pixels. What you have is a good wip base, which has yet to benefit from individual, loving attention to every little pixel in there. Your palette could stand with a good sorting, as you use a lot of extremely similar shades, as well as pretty much the exact same hue from start to finish, whereas you'll find that even in your reference, the highlights are a softer yellow, and the deeper shadows a reddish brown, and whatnot in the middle. Just because something seems to be on the whole of one color doesn't really mean it is. Some illustrated points:

I'm liking what I see. Some crits:
You're using a lot of colours with little variation. I would suggest you increase the contrast and make more use of each one. For example simulating fur by stroking the lines in the same direction as in the picture. I would really reccomend that you remove the gradient. It really clashes with the style your piece has and is regarded as somewhat of a taboo amongst pixel artists. Using a transparent background is the common alternative, but making a background in the same style as the dog would look really nice IMO.
Keep on trucking! (Or.. something like that

It's really good, but from that angle I expect to see more of the dog's lower jaw, unless the dog's face is hideously deformed
.
Great job
