LOL.  If your gonna make an edit or a piece to show someone tecnique/improvements - then the edit generally should be better than the original, no?


I don't care what ANY of you say, this is my next T-Shirt.  Nothing will ever bring me joy like this piece!  NOTHING!  I want to see it everyday.

Naw, those cracks are deeper, that is why they are so dark... the sun erroded them. ;D

Sigh, alright, I will fix them. :-\  I thought I was done with those rocks.

Oh yeah, Adam, I tried the grew rocks on the cliff face, it makes sense logically, but it looked crazy.  Don't think I didn't try.

Yeah, the water is TERRIBLE... I tried a ton of stuff to make it purdy and gave up for the time being.

Ok, cliff face is done, next up the grass.

This is for a top-down perspective game.  I have been pulling my hair out trying to decide how to texture the side of the cliff, if you can even tell it is a cliff.  Anyhow, the red box is style 1, the blue is a much simplified style 2.  I am not sure either are cliffy enough. 

The rest of the piece is still very WIP, but feel free to comment, and or throw down some pixels to help a guy out.

Yeah, the only thing he did was redither.  I tried all the options in Photoshop and made this handy dandy animated gif with his palette:


2 second delay

I am ashamed to say in this instance I prefer what photoshop has done.

Oh well, you can't fault this person for trying to hone his dithering/shading skills, it is a shame he tried to pass it off as 100% original.

Jeebus.   Metal Slug makes me cry tears of shame.

Looks much better Morph.  See how many frames you cut to get a good result.  It isn't about forcing more frames in, it is about knowing how many frames you need and cutting down to that.  Just enough to be expressive and get the point across.

Nice evolution.

I really like it, it has a Ganon in high-school feel to it. Before he became the supreme evil of Hyrule.  I think the chin could wrap a bit more in front of the body.  The face in general has a portrait-side-view feel, but in a 3/4 perspective, so it is kind of throwing me.
