Jad:

Yes, I'm ditching the purple it doesn't match the overall style. This isn't supposed to be seiken densetsu tactics..  :)
Thank you for making me realise the flatness of the tree too. I'm breaking this ball into smaller branches.

Mathias:

They're very bulbous and grape-looking indeed!

McClaneGames:

Yeah those cliffs are still quite wip.

Thank you all for the crits, I'll keep em all in mind under the process.

I have the feeling that your tree is missing a bit lighter colors at the top check this tree out for example.

But I might be wrong .

Yes, indeed the tree looks a bit flat. And SD2's tree is a good reference.

Here's a pretty fast update:

Problem now is that they might not fit in with the environment. I'll keep working on this, it's really fun!

I've always wanted to try isometric tiling, today I gave it a go.

Also it's my first attempt to actually us a palette, well atleast a try. I always end up using way to many colors.

Grass is kinda noisy.. C&C if you please!

Nice work Paiku! That is some amazing pixels right there.

Anyways I tried changing the colors up but I'm not sure if it is better or not.

Thank you Sly, I tend to make the colors washed out for some reason.

And it keeps bugging me, I should have have used less colors.
Anyway I'm getting fed up with desert tiling, might jump to another tileset soon.

I tried to take all of your advices and I think it's improving slooowly:

Shiny material goes from highlight to shadow faster than any other. Work with "speculars" or little circles of intense highlight and have an area under the shadow that is lighter ( reflected light)
Thank you for the edit, great advice.

Those stone pathway tiles are nice.

To be honest, I preferred the previous colors - the new ones are blinding to me. Now it looks like the characters are on Mars. (Are they on Mars? It just occurs to me that that could be possible, haha.)

Haha, you're right it looked like they were on mars. They were not supposed to be there :P

Edit: Here's a sketch of the main protagonist:

Hey I come in here expecting an eyeburn and you dissapoint/amaze me with this average stuff?

Haha, I thought the exact same thing.

I love these low poly models, good job.

3d modeling would be fun to learn someday.

Tried to reduce the monotonous sand dunes a little. Added updated tiles overall.
Experimented a bit with the colors. Maybe a bit washed out atm..  :mean:
