On the dark dirt background, I might suggest a lower contrast to help differentiate the tiles. Or you could just make a little bit different tile for the background. To put it in terms that someone else in this topic already pointed out, try taking some tips from this when it comes down to the monotony of the tiles

It's still looking like a nice game, Tidbit. Glad to see you're still working on it

It looks really really nice, but I am having a hard time trying to find the light source... The hole in the already shaded stump is what is confusing me

Thanks for the compliment, Xion!

And a wonderful piece, slym. I think it's quite funny that the tree is being used as a Christmas tree despite there being a skeleton hanging from it.... Made me laugh

Alright, thanks for the help both of you!

I can't wait to see what has been done this year, it's probably the most interesting gift I'll get this year. Besides the card I got from my friend, who else spends more than 30 minutes on a gift? The people here spend a lot of time on this, and it's a great accomplishment.

Well, I finished mine earlier today, but I'm not quite sure my message was sent. I know I sent it, but my outbox is empty.

If I don't see anything to deter me (such as a message in my outbox or a note that the message was received), I'll probably re-send the message tomorrow.

I love the animation for the main character, but I can't stand the jagged lines. I think a little more anti-aliasing could do wonders for it You're using that dark blue-green as a shading color, and I think it could work well for anti-aliasing.

Jeez, I just love watching that animation, it's very nice and smooth!

It took me a while to figure out where I'd seen this before, then I read the username.

It still looks nice, glad to see that you are getting some help with this.

I'll state the same comments I stated then, too. You could use some better methods of shading, and colors that contrast each other a little more. Your shading is just dithered gradients, which does not look very good.
On a simpler note, the right arm looks a bit too small.

Thanks for taking the time to do that edit, I have done quite a bit to my pixel now:

She looks a lot younger, which isn't really a bad thing, but it still needs work. I still have to work on the hair+face a bit an then start moving downwards and get an idea of the torso.
EDIT:I think a less harsh light tone works a little better for this.

Sure, I'm in. This looks like a lot of fun to do, so long as whomever gets my gift doesn't care that I'm not too great at pixel art.

Things to think about when gifting me:
Creepy things
Darkness
CREEPY THINGS
And faces. (eyes especially)
