Are you referring to the last two pictures?
Mostly, yeah. The third-to-last seems a bit stocky too, but since her head's no smaller than Rosie's it must be the hair giving that impression.
Making the heads a bit bigger couldn't hurt.
I think I found a decent workaround! watcha think?

Nice progress.
Prototype 4's proportions seem stockier (particularly Cass-head) which has caused a bit of a dip in cuteness. Cuteness isn't really about sizes, it's about ratios, & the head to shoulder ratio is probably one of the most important.

Could it catch on? Probably!

Are you referring to the last two pictures? because I totally added gundam-esque shoulder-pads for those, but you raise a good point either way. With the cass head I also left off ears, which I think have helped combat the ratio problem.
the normal arms I think i'll go back and alter again so they perhaps come to a thinner point at the top. though I might keep these around in case I start trying to do male characters.
Other than that though I'm going to see what I can do with just adding more stuff rather than re-working the models. (worst case scenario I can just make the head bigger XD)

thanks much.!

i actually like the hat thing. I say you should try actually over-pronouncing your words and exaggerating your enthusiasm. It's good practice if you've fallen into a habit of being underwhelming. Plus you can always edit out mistakes. Also don't be afraid to move around!

Photocopier, your sprite is unfortunately not within NES specs. There's a reason the hands are white in certain places and flesh in others, it's because the palette has to change halfway the sprite to allow for the blue and white.
oho i was wondering about the white hands. feel stupid not putting two and two together. XD

The banding on the trousers is pretty awful guys, I suggest fixing it
i figured I shouldnt change the original sprite too much because it was sposed to be shatterhand+, not a total re-vamp. but I agree, somebody should prolly take a crack at that.

i noticed that right after I posted. XD

You can just raise up the background leg a pixel and that wold probably fix that If it really makes too big a difference. I was just going off another very good walk cycle thread i found on here, which probably applied more to side-scroller sprites. Would the method really be all that different?

theres a lot to work on here and I'm sure other guys are going to get to it but id just like to point out that for reversed-leg positions in a situation like this you can just copypaste the same form and recolor.

saves time :D

(also added a toe to the foot there. thought it needed it)

first attempt at this! woot!

so my original thought was that the main guy srsly needs a shirtless mode (ala fist o' tha north star), so I tried whipping up a transformation sequence but somehow got sidetracked along the way and ended up having him doing some kind energy blast attack. With a little tweaking this might make for some kind of sweet finishing move, but the movement right now just seems to suggest a ranged shot.
