I was very pleased to see you can swap between pixel and modern graphics at any time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdZCNWO7izE (towards the end)

But who really wants to play original monkey island with a pad, seriously?

In the remake there are lots of pretty decent character art and backgrounds are mostly quite ok, but I can not excuse the style decision for Guybrush. The hair for crying out loud! And all the animations seen so far are really crappy too.

Did you guys already see this: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-the-secret/50151

It's a HD remix of Secret of Monkey Island for Xbox360 and.... ew....ew....ew.... I feel molested now. :( It could have been really good remix, if they'd done it for example Curse of Monkey Island style but this is just awful.

I almost cried out loud when I saw that. They took my whole childhood and raped it. :'(

Ending?  ??? I wandered around the water for 10 minutes and then quitted coz I didn't know what to do... maybe I'm just stupid... or impatient. But other than that I really liked the looks and gameplay of it!

To be exact, Dusty is correct if the only lightsource in the whole room is just the spotlight. :) But often that's not the case, it's just the key light. On stage there can be other more dim, ambient lights which could cast the shadow outside the spotlight. Although the shadows outside the spotlight would be much more smoother, since only strong direct lights create sharp shadows.

I made a small edit for you. I think there were so many really confusing planes that I had to. I might've accidentally removed a few intended planes but forgive me, this was just a quick edit.

I really like the mood of this piece! It's almost like those cutscenes in old adventure games. I almost expect that after the "day after" text when sceen fades in again, the guy would have a knife in his back and some C.S.I dudes would be investigating the room and then you, as a main investigator would have to start searching evidences etc. :D That's why I LOVE this!

There are lots of technical issues if we speak of pixel perfection, like banding etc. but I forgive lots of those, since the old adventure games weren't also too precise about pixelling techniques more than what gets the job done. Maybe that's why your style is so authentical :)

Do you throw your cigarettes on the floor? :P

Bad loser, eh? :P I used to be very competetive when playing games but lately I've learned to enjoy from the playing itself, the results don't matter. Isn't it nice that the other player is so good that he beats the crap out of you? Good for him! It's not you loss, so to speak :) Why don't you ask the better player to teach you some tricks or take it as a challenge and try to better yourself in that game.

I don't think life is always so black and white but trying to think like that has helped me to lose a lot of that agression than comes from losing.
