Pixel Art / Re: GBA Sidescoller background

Lightning in space?
Well, I'm guessing the high saturation and brightness is due to the GBA's reduced saturation screen. Keeping that in mind, the moon is nice. the stars can use some variation in brightness, as well as maybe cross AA. The "rip in space time", well, looks too rigid. Think of a rip in fabric, and you should accomplish the right effect. "Rips" are not "cracks". Besides that, the stars moving towards the "rip" is a nice effect, though I think you should try to have them moving at an angle perpendicular to the closest, err, segment in the "rip".

Hope that made sense. And I'm not sure about your color restrictions, so some of my critique may be inapplicable in this case.

Pixel Art / Re: Leading actors of the cartoon "TRIGUN"

I'm offended!  >:(

 :-\
Here are the two leading actors of the cartoon "TRIGUN".The one with red overcoat is Vash the Stampede, and the next named...er...er...sorry,i have forgot it. :-\

Wolfwood definitely is a bit pillowshaded. Especially around the legs.
Vash might benefit from working out a bit, and not having such large boobs.
Also, her dress could use a few downward oriented "folds". and she also seems a bit pillow shaded.
...Yes, I realize Vash is a male.

Basically, CrematedPumpkin is right.

Also, I'm diggin' the faces. They have such eloquent style. Especially the eyes. Makes them look sickeningly cute.
Almost to the point I want to rip my eyes out. Which isn't a bad thing in this case.

I think he means to say he feels you are Helm, who is a pixeller too.

Agreed. Try and see if you can find some of stoven's works. They are truly amazing. Especially his Bahamut Perched. I suggest studying it a bit, for it contains rather masterful pixelling.

In layman's terms, more contrast = bigger difference between light and dark areas. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If that really is dirt, then I have to agree with Sawtooth. Texture would be appreciated.

By the way, what does J2ME stand for? I'd hazard a guess of something Java 2 related. In any case, I'm interested.

Otherwise, I like the cartoony style. It's a nice change from my day so far.  ;)

Revisiting this, I feel you're right Camus. It does feel uninspired.
So I'll tear it apart and start over.
 ::)

Inspiration is not to be overlooked.
Also, I should probably try to actually use a scanned image, since large works using purely pixels is awkward for me.

Just talking to myself there.  :D

The eyes in the chibi are quite strange...  :o
They freak me out a bit. Dunno why.

Keep growing and learning.  :D
