I like this, but that's a wimpy-ass blade on the end of his pole, looks like it wouldn't do much more than harvest crops.

One odd quirk of the hardware is that these pixels could optionally be displayed in the form of right triangles — “half pixels,” as it were — and that’s why you see oddly smooth diagonals in the above video."

This is a somewhat clunky edit, but here's what I think about the blue bit of hair:
What it's lacking is strands/parts of the rest of the hair coming through, the way you've done it makes it unconnected to everything else.
overall though I'm much enjoying your art

two things;
I think the paint should be dripping a little on the sign
I don't really like the top left and top right corners on the tileset, I'd consider making the grass overlap there more maybe.

Yeah, I think it will help with intonation if you sit up straight.
About the shyness:
Get comfortable with the hat, then try it without.
When I was your age, I was pretty insecure. I forced myself to talk to a random stranger each day and not care what they think about me.
By my final year, I was chairman of the computer club, playing ball with the jocks every lunchbreak and I took a girl from the drama club to prom.
I agree with this advice.

I'd do the jacket in a more creamy/clothy colour. That's what speaks straight jacket to me.
