I too, have been working on my (crappy) 3D skills  :-[ I'm thinking about creating some weapons and props from STALKER games in lowpoly. Here's an outline for the AK-74, trying to keep it really simple.

I think my G9x mouse is breaking, the clicks don't feel like they're registering.

Just started with the icosphere and extruded from that, then I selected the icosphere but not the bottleneck and scaled it down to make the insides. The lighting is making it look weirdly shaped in some places.

I did follow a tutorial about a T-Rex which turned out okay, but I didn't feel like posting something I basically copied.  :P Here it is anyway. http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc14/tuaarita/?action=view&current=untitled-3.png
As you can see I got bored and sloppy in the legs and arms.  :-[

I gotta look into that raytraced transparency now.

Updates on that potion. Same but with subdivison surface modifier. Should have made the goop inside an UV mesh and not use the modifier on it.

Very basic 3D modeling. It's hollow so that's something.  :P

Now to figure out how to make it transparent and how to use the fluid modifier.

the blue in your palette isn't used, you had that AA tone, and the actual rogue tone is highlighted in magenta, didn't take long at all, what program are you using? my method is to use GIMP's colour map and to swap every similar colour one by one to say magenta and see which are barely used. Liking the new comp btw

and cool be sure to share what you make if it's any good ;D (in the 'low spec art' sub forum I 'spose)
Aha, thanks. I use Paint Shop Pro 7.04 but it seems it can't load the palette from the image without reducing the color depth to the amount of counted colors and even then it slightly changes the palette. Or, at least I haven't figured out any other way.

New direction. This is going all over the place.

Going to try to pursue sand ripples like these http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc14/tuaarita/ref.png

But now I'm taking a teeny tiny break as I dabble on Blender and lowpoly

Just a small update
Removed the bird at least for now. I was thinking of having it swoop down on the snake from the distance.

Went quite far

Guess it'll turn out a bit more positive than even I was expecting.

Man those are some good points, the position of the horn didn't even occur to my tired brain when I was drawing the raven.  :-[ They are indeed pointed towards the viewer. Outline on the raven hasn't been cleaned up yet but it looks like I'll be turning the whole bird around to match the horns.
Some parts of the shading are still in a state where I just prefer to call them 'notes'. They will be addressed.
I'll look into this more tomorrow.

It is a cruel world.  :ouch:
