Here's my take at this:

it's not the best, but still pretty decent. I a little tip: dont be afraid to make it a little bigger than if needed, and as everyone already stated, dont think about details, but readabilty.
i suggest also working on shadows and highlights on the armor, as they look pretty bland right now.

I tried it out, but i encountered a problem with the grid.
I can't remember what i did exactly, but i think i changed the bg color and the grid disappeared, and i couldnt get it back.

the problem with that tree, is that it looks mirrored, and shouldn't be.
Take a look at photographs of real trees, and use them as an inspiration of what a real tree looks like.

 I like: Giant robots, epic stuff, Heavy metal music (black or death metal mostly), guitars, Lord of the rings (wizards, dragons), miniature stuff, funky color palettes.
But feel free to do anything you want. ;)
