I changed him up and made him look like Hiro the lead singer of the Polysics
Also I re-mapped the texture so it all fits on one 64x64 square.

I'm thinking of makeing all 4 and rigging them and making somewhat of a music video for one of thier songs.

A neat lens effect that makes things look miniature. Thought it was really neat so I wanted to share it.

The effect can also be achieved with a photoshop filter quite easily, I made the first image and here's another that I made.

I've been working on it abit so the texture might look a bit different than whats on the model currently.
I do have a good amount of room along the top but I plan to add the Buster texture and a couple of different expressions along the top. I'm acctually not sure how to go about expressions though. I think either, seperate on the same map, seperate maps for each expression or an animated gif that somehow can have its frames be able to be set for each expression.
Also I have a pupil mapped to a triangle plane so I can move his pupils freely.

What can I say I've got some crazy megaman fever going on right now.  :D
I'm currently trying to beat mm8 and having a hell of a time with wily. In my free time I've come up with this!

200 tris, 2 128x128 textures and has an interchangable gun arm which I haven't textured yet. I was trying to go for DS specs but I kind of just came up with my own limitations as I don;t know the DS specs.

C&C welcome.

He started out looking like this:

I got bored part way through and wanted to make something awesome looking. And so I share it with you!

My favorite part is the boots. MAN I love those DAMN boots.

Pixel Art / Messing with colours (wip)
« on: September 22, 2008, 04:00:21 pm »
Trying to mess around with how colours work together, I'm using the NES palette (not restrictions though) I've never really worked from just a palette I usually just grab any colour I need so its fun to see what i can come up with. Also getting shading to work smoothly, I'm probably going to go back and dither a lot of it.

Crits welcomes

Update:

been working on this most of the night, heres what i've got so far.

sorry, I had seen your idea for warp woman previously, and think its amazing as well. I apologize.

The ideas for the robot masters were all thought up by a friend of mine who doesn't come to the forums. He came up with all the characters and story related stuff I've just been making the sprites for him. The only character I had any part in coming up with was Viralman. It was purely coincidence, I meant no harm.

Interestingly I was just talking about games people considered artistic today with some friends. SOTC and ICO were both brought up as well as both killer 7 and No more heroes which are fantastic games. Killer 7 has a wicked learning curve though but once you get the hang of it its fairly worth it. I really like how Suda51 does things differently than normal. I'd class the silent hill games as being artistic I guess. At least they have underlying intentions. Katamary Damacy is pretty artistic visually. I know of a bunch they are slipping my mind at the moment.
Guitaroo man
Odin Sphere..

As far as Science Fiction movies goes has anyone here heard of or seen the movie La Jetée. I saw it in a film class a couple years ago and found it kind of interesting, apparently the movie 12 monkeys was based off of it. It's kind of slow as it's mainly still frames but still fairly chilling and creepy as well. Its about time travel in paris after World War III.

Also a movie called Fantastic Planet, a sci-fi animated film about humans as pets to aliens. I haven't seen the whole things but from what I saw was pretty creepy.

I also really enjoyed a movie called The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension though it seems this doesn't count as the same kind of sci-fi you guys are discussing.

Not necessarily my favorites, I just really liked elements of them and thought someone might find them interesting.
