I'm in! I'm in! (Okay, barring anything in my personal life that is. But, still planning to be in!)

I've really been into Spaceships lately so I'll just go with that. I do like cute things as well though. Nothing not safe for work please. If you wouldn't show it to your gradeschooler then don't show it to me.

General Discussion / Open game art
« on: September 15, 2011, 06:47:02 am »
I found opengameart.org a while back, I thought it was pretty cool. Then I realized that it would be difficult to build an entire game out of some of the sprites. So, I was wondering. Would pixelation artists be interested in doing an opengameart thread? It would at least cut down on some of the requests I think. Just curious.

WHOA!

Since when did the pixelation forums become powered by simple machines? I mean, I know I don't visit the site every day but I wasn't certainly prepared for a change like this. What happened?

That link looks useful. I'll try searching for what's in there then. Thanks guys!
(if your curious, what prompted my search was the timlapse of the making of a ludum dare 21 game. the guy had a square shaped character with similar legs and tried to animate it the more fluid way. needless to say it did not go well. but the square girl would've been a perfect example)

Just a random creation for an example walk like many of the example walks in the book. I could be wrong though.

Still though. There has to be more examples of this type in order for him to call it a type in the first place. It's just that I don't know how to look for it.

Hey! I need help from some animation gurus! First of all let me post this:

http://twitpic.com/6e4ays

Now, the small square girl at the bottom. Does anyone know what film/animation/cartoon she's from? I had some ideas on how to go about searching but I didn't find anything. Also, the book says 'stylized stiffness' as a style. But I didn't find much on google about that either. Any clues?

Thanks in advance!

Sure, there's replies. After I decide on what to buy. -.-

Anyways.

@Argyle: Yep, that's what I was looking at. I looked at dozens and dozens of reviews on them and they all seemed nothing but good. There were a few poor ratings here or there but they explained it as not working. So I looked at the reviews from amazon and one guy, an artist, who tried to use it gave it a real negative review. And that's what I'd use it for. Scanning in 8x11s. But someone posted a counter argument just a little bit ago and said he had no trouble with it. I checked newegg.com for it but sadly they didn't have a review. Even though it was introduced last year. But if I do have trouble that just means I'll have to return it, and deal with customer service again, which, I've not been too pleased with lately. But yeah, thanks for the tips. :)

@Mathias: Yeah, I was looking at something mobile. .

@Dusty: Yeah, I'm going to try to do that. My dad has an all in one but it's upstairs and he uses it for office use. And I draw in the middle of the night too so, yeah. That flatbed though, looks nice. But I don't think I have the space for something like that.

Thanks guys!
