very nice :)

think it'd be awesome if you did a few different coloured blocks, not necisserily for this one above but so you can use em to make more complex pixel art.  :y:

Probably the funniest post i've heard in a while, that and Zenobia's;

This apparently wasn't the time to start following this topic again...

sorry OT.

To me he looks more like a toddler at the minute, I agree with Dr D. Unless you're going for more of a charicature-ish sprite you need to work more on the proportions.

if you ignore the guy in the way, this might help.

notice the leg positioning, I think his left hand should be higher drawn to his face and imagine he's looking his target.

I think you need to make yourself a bit older, going by this you look much younger than your photo. A slight more definition with your jaw maybe? And I think it's time you had some ears  :P

Im officially at war with my housemates, they decided it'd be fun to start playin pranks on me the last couple of months, waking me up with guitars, turning everything in my room upside down, re-aranging my room, locking me out my room in the morning, setting the fire alarm off in the early hours of the morning etc. More irritating than anything >:(

Decided it's war, the whole of yesterday I tied their bedroom doors together and left em in there for a total of 12 hours.  :lol:

Love it if you guys could give me some tips, im thinking of putting paroxide in their shampoo so over time their hair goes blonde mysteriously.

im not saying u shouldnt have it anatomically correct, because it is far from. I just didn't want my edit to be a shining example of how it should be because It just wasn't the point I was adressing.

I know im helping competition but meh it cnt hurt.

On a pixel level there are a few areas of concern in my opinion, were shading doesn't totally make sense, use of the palette not fully explored and a hell of a lot of banding.

Just take this hand and pie to roughly translate where I'd improve. Tried to use available colours to shape the hand, more for clarity rather than being anatomically correct. I think a lot of places here could do with some attention to AAing, a lot of the time with this palette there's still available colours to work for smoothing lines. Also an extra touch some dithering to blend into the motion blur might work.

No its just not pixel art, If you're making art without total control of pixel placement you're at the wrong place. It's not the programs fault either..

Rule 3: Post only pixel art.

Now this is a bit of a controversial subject, but it hopefully can be cleared out at least so we can go on with our business here: Pixel Art, is art where there's specific attention paid to the fine manipulation of picture elements. It deals with the informative quality of specific, single pixels. If the art you're about to post has not been pixel-pushed on that level, don't bother. Automatic AA, soft brushes, filters, smudge tools, all are indicative of index-painting, or at least dirty-tooling, but do not always mean your art will not benefit from pixel-level critique. If you've made something using some of these tools and then you're able to reign the piece in by optimizing the palette into using the best possible amount of colors, went in and pushed single pixels until everything is right, then it's probable we'll be able to talk about your art and how it can be made better. Always be clear of how you made things, only post concept art when it's relative to a pixel-art piece you've made and never never try to decieve us. As above, workstages and process animations are optional, but always welcome.
