Pixel Art / Re: Portrait critique request
« on: September 03, 2020, 10:32:46 am »
It's very hard for me make hair with low canvas imagine at this side.  ???

However I think you could give more details in his smile more specif in upper lips and in the teeths, them seems such big and at this size I belive you could give better dental cavity.

...done entirely with tracing, selections, masks and paint-bucket; sorry in advance if this is unhelpful, gimp was really starting to glitch out on me half way through...

This help me understand better the nose format, besides didn't stay good for the reason be my lack of skill.

This is my character from a RPG discord server, I do this in a high canvas that I don't usually work, but since I want make more big and complex I give a try, the ear is messy because I don't know how properly make it, but first I would want a critique on the face.

This was the reference that I use, I'm not good in pick colors, so I don't know if I represent his cheek properly despite in the image it's cleary the cheek doesn't have fat and make this slope on his face. Also, I would want give more details on the cloths, put some folds, etc. Thank you!

It's good, however you don't make dynamic light and the back of eagle it's much thin that a real one.

Hey guys, I'm late, i just give about the the hair that I could afford and reshade the I could. But, as far I see in hair references the light can be stronger or more weak depend of hair shape, straight hair like the above example here @dpixel made the good favor to do it, the lights in real world would work different because the hair lines are more individual while other hears like curvy have more concetrated hair and receive more lights. Well, this is just a theory mine.

I remade few of my hair examples and I think they get better, except the last one that it's really messy and I personally hate, it's awful for me because it's blond hair and I can't managed how to shade a full straight hair like this.

This is'nt the original reference (I lost all), but it near what I want to do.
