For the dirt and the grass, I meant something more like this-

Wait, you're working on 3 games at the same time? Personally I think you should wait until you finish Momotaro before starting anything else.

But anyway, a couple of the brightest shades are way too unsaturated, the rock needs more contrast and hue shifting (It also looks too soft), and you have a little too many colors on the dirt. I would also suggest bringing down the saturation on the darkest shade.

IMO The shading is pretty "dirty", especially on the neck.

The ground is off of your perspective, it's just top down.

The different objects vary in perspective as well.

Ok, how would I go about using less of it? I'm not really doing anything special with the sprites(no blurring, etc.), just drawing them in MSpaint. Is there something I'm missing?

AA isn't exactly blurring, it's more of sharpening/smoothening. And yeah, it can be done in MS Paint, cause you're the one that does it; not the program.

Though some programs do have an Auto-AA feature.

I agree with redshrike, especially on the orc :-X

Also, the perspective on the metal hammer is off, and woman's lower body looks sorta flat.

Lighting wasn't the right word, I meant shading in general.

Also, it seems like you're using a similar texture on the clouds. Was this intentional?  :-X

Too much focus on texture instead of lighting imo.
Also has some AA issues.
