Very good looking character and environment, though the attack animation is not so good.

Is it supposed to be one swing? Because it looks like two separate attacks, one diagonal and one horizontal.

The blur shouldn't stop in the middle, it ruins the illusion. Why is the other arm bending like that? Doesn't look right.
Same goes for the leg, why is it moving up? That move would be impossible in the air.

Btw, nice Swedish head  :D

New version is too distracting. Also, the compositison feels wrong.

The letters lead out of the picture, and there's nothing to weigh against it on the other side.
Balance is important in composition.

What is that thing behind the mask. A flame, a wisp, a part of the background? It looks kind of distracting when it's that close to the face.

Though I don't think it looks that much like a Guy Fawkes mask, it looks more like a traditional jester/theatre mask.

Seconding everything Dr D said.

The flames animation doesn't look too good either, it's very laggy. Try to make it smoother.
Also you could make the lighting on his back animated, so it gets stronger when the flames are big and dimmer when the flames are small.
Maybe it would look better if he moved one pixel up/down, so it isn't completely static.

Critique:
It looks to me like the "Bowser" sprite is leaning back too much. I think you should lean him a little forward, otherwise his balance would be bad due to the tail.
Notice how dinosaurs and other bipods with a tail are usually leaning forward.

I had a look at this and thought "Fuck! This looks like shit."

So I made a new attempt.



I'll show the earlier stages so you can see where I went wrong, and because it looks a bit generic.
I want help on anatomy and making it more realistic and feminine in general.
Is her jaw too asymmetrical?
Hair will be added later, but I want to get the facial structure down first. I won't add ears though, and I know the nose is huge (gonna change that) ;D

Also made this guy, would like some advice on him too, especially shading.

On the running sprite, the legs could be improved. Right now it's very hard to tell which leg is where. The flapping of ears and tails is very good, but could be much smoother.

Same goes for the walking animation.

-His legs are too short in the walking anim, compare it to the idle.
-Why is his body turning to his left with each step? Looks weird.
-It doesn't look like he's really walking, it looks more like his right foot is kicking his left foot forward, like he's dancing  :D

The bend of the front legs are too high, and I don't think the legs should bend very much in an idle stance.
The neck is very weird, why does it go up that much.
The eye doesn't look canine.

Still good job though.
