On the previous subject of the Confederate flag: being a Southerner myself, I can understand how our influences can come across as ignorant. In reality, a bit of our culture really is. Be that as it may, we're not asking you to kill your personality. The main thing is we know you mean well, and that you are proud to be a Southerner. I'm proud too! The only problem is, we interact with so many people of so many walks of life, that our cultures tend to clash. In other words, be proud, but be mindful of other people's culture.
   In this case, the Confederate flag does have connotations involved with racism back in the days of American slavery, and Civil War. We know most Southerners who put this flag on their pick ups don't use it to offend people, but more so to display their symbol of pride for their home. However, to others, it is offensive to their culture. So please, be weary of these things for future reference, from one fellow user to another.

   Any hoo, hope this doesn't derail your stay here. I know that sometimes some artists on this site can come off as blunt, or straight jerkish(including myself), but we don't mean it an a mean way. It's just the way we've grown to communicate with each other, in being as honest as possible. Hope to see some more junk-funk in the near future!

   Also, I've been lurkin on the site a bit, and have noticed that the Star Ocean sphere mock up challenge is very lonely. Feel bad for it. Would attempt something for it, but everytime I think of something, it just seems so bland....must be what others are thinking when they think about participating for it as well...oh well.

   Why is it, that when you ask for critique, and you actually GET IT, you back off with the same excuses, that it's "supposed to be cartoony", or " And, This is just a dumb little peice, that I hope me and you can forget about "? That last quote completely counteracts the point of asking for critique in the first place! I've been monitoring your posts over a while at the pixel joint forums, and have opted not to give advice, for this exact same reason. My only hope is that if you truly like to pixel, (or like art in general) then you will learn to take critique to heart, and stop using style as a defense against great suggestions....

   Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a lack of pixel art activity from our normal staple of known active users? I remember I used to pixel all the time, when I was bored, working, or eating. Now, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like just don't have the urge to pixel any longer. I'm sure it's just a normal artist's block, or something, but I've noticed a lot of the other users here who normally post their pixel art, are also missing more and more. Not to say that the current people who submit art in the forums now aren't good, they are, it's just that I'm wondering if maybe age is getting to some of us, and we're moving on. Kinda' sad really.
   Kinda' makes you think, how old do you think some of us may be, and still keep in touch like this on the web? I'm one of those people who actually fall in love with communities like this, and the thought of "watching them go, as they leave one by one" is a bit depressing. But I guess people sometimes find something new, are too busy, or move on. That, or become lazy, like myself.
