Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: I move for no man [WIP]

Hey dude. Great progress! hyper-quick edit addressing cloth folds that were bothering me.

Also, consider doing something to ground the sword in the image more? Feet seem to have shadows that affect the cloth but not the sword, so the visual impact of his stance is lost there.

Also also, always work with a reference!

Very nice looking. Crunchy, delicious texture happening, of which I'm a huge fan. Before you get too lost in details- What's going on with his feet? Does he have talons? Also, take another look at your back leg. make sure it doesn't get neglected. It doesn't appear to match the front one, anatomically, and looks flat. Sculpt it a bit more, and match up the joints on both legs.

I would also examine the silhouette of his tail, too. Seems a little sectioned off, like the victim of overzealous line tool. Fantastic work. Pallet is appealing too.  :y:

Peach, both me and my brother laughed out loud upon seeing that glorious artwork.  :y:
Thanks so much. I'm making this my phone background and probably printing it. thank you :)

I'm glad you like it, Zizka. It was good to dust off my rusty pixeling chops.
Happy Christmas everyone! This is one of the most awesome things I do during winter solstice. Everyones gifts look incredible.

I'm in.

I like music, drumming, nature, fire, and winter.

And Christmas cookies.
But truthfully, if there's something you're burning to draw, I'd prefer that! I love creativity!
Can't wait. Happy holidays!

Pixel Art / Novelty Christmas Wreath Cursor!
« on: November 18, 2012, 10:09:48 pm »
I forgot all about pixel art for years. But I've been taking art classes and learning a bit about color theory and shading.

So to celebrate the holiday season, I've made a Christmas wreath cursor!
Crits welcome. took like five minutes. I'm not happy with some of the AA yet but I like the colors.
Thinking I might make the bow a bight brighter, and potentially add a white border for clarity against all backgrounds.

General Discussion / Re: Etiquette question

...there is no pecking order in Pixelation.

I have to say, that's one thing I've always loved about this place. Very open, very helpful... and nobody ever treats you like an inferior, despite the high artistic success many of you have achieved.

I mean I joined this forum when I was only like eleven... I never felt like I was being mistreated. Usually, eleven year olds get butthurt real quick.

Sorry not to add any valuable critique towards the art but I think this shouldn't be posted in Low Spec.

However, it looks cool.   :y: ::)

I... am not.  I will now proceed to shut the fruck up.

lmfao mathias

indeed ribbit.

I say don't use so much dithering, it's not great for larger areas...  maybe antialais the black outline?  and I don't know about frog anatomy but might want to use a reference for form if you haven't.  Otherwise though it does look good.  Lips could be a bit fatter.  mmmm frog lips

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Pogo-Mech. Critique please.
« on: June 09, 2010, 12:30:37 am »
heh.  I'm just waiting for an actual animator to rip it apart and tell my why it sucks... that happens here a lot.  it's quite endearing, actually.  :-[
anyways, critique.  that's what we're here for...

I love the colors because the pink was making me think of bubble gum and barbie, thus getting on my nerves.
is my favorite, the contrast works well.
but!
the smaller versions don't seem to accurately represent the larger things, becoming more triangular and making some things smaller in proportion, which they shouldn't be.  like the muffin top thing should be much bigger and take up more room, making the pogo bit smaller.  And why aren't the smaller ones completely highlighted?  :n:
edit:

Point clear?  I didn't do a really good job on the littlest one, it was hard =\
hope I could help
later, mate
happy pixeling. peace
