I hope I havnt put you off working on this. Any of the greyed out tiles are ones already put by, but do try one of the others, it'd be nice to have more people on it.

I really liked the greeny blues on the lighthouse, I'm also not keen on the banded shading on the second roof, but yeah the colours could be reduced a bit, and light cast by the fire is good - however the shadows shouldnt be so harsh, they're still in areas hit by the main lightsource.

I guess I'll take 99.

well despite the rulebreak I'm rather fond of it, but I wish Nix would add some fins/rudder to the left side!
I assumed the tile limit was just to stop people being greedy, indeed robalan did encourage to break the grid from the start. In fact I think tile 2 would look rather fetching with the titanic crashing into it  :P

Oh I hope I didnt say anything to dishearten you Sohashu, I was just trying to help. There shouldnt be any criteria for something like this, its just a bit of fun so sorry if it seemed I was taking it too seriously, I'm really not, evereyone should be able to draw what they want. I hope you replace your tile.

Sohashu, I think it would be a shame to have your tiles edited because, as someone already mentioned, the nice thing about this is that everyones tile is unique to them.

I will do some c&c though if I may.

As it stands your tiles do stand out a bit, not because of technical ability, but there are a few things that stops them fitting into the overall style.

Now I know there were only a few tiles to work from when you did yours, but looking over the rest of the peice now I can see:
-edge tiles have a black outline
-characters have a black/dark outline
-characters have very distinctive proportions
-characters are flat shaded

I see one thing you did pick up on was TakaMs short grass style (although you might want to check some of the angles of the darker lines) so that helps.

I think following the points above would make the world of difference. Probably the hardest would be if you wanted to adapt your character to the proportions of the others. I had a rough go myself:

The only other point I would make is that some of the parts seem a little obscure, I'm not sure what the things either side of the character are, but youve done a good job putting some motion into the scene.

________

if no-one thinks it greedy of me I'd like to reserve 100.
