Me! Me! Me! \o/

I like large funny hats, imaginary flora & fauna, jars of pickled bell-peppers, nature spirits and that part of reality that lies outside of the scope of our senses.

I also really like your art pages and the great designs. Have you done any original sci-fi character drawings or sprites that you are happy for other people to use btw? I've still got a turn based sci-fi game that needs good designs and sprites! ;D

Why don't you read whar Arne has to say on the subject on his website?

Update May 2013: Got the portfolio back up and fixed the links. Will need to update the stuff in there sometime as it's 2 years behind.

I am an experienced artist and I am looking for a nice game studio to work in.
Please note that I am very unlikely to take on freelance offers, as my current career priority is relocation for full-time work.
You can still contact me if you wish to try your luck or think your offer is special.

Please see my portfolio and CV at pasmas.tk/ilkke

General Discussion / Re: Chaos Engine editor released

Yes, there's been a CC of Chaos Engine.

It might be interesting to compare Chaos Engine graphics to Chaos Engine 2 graphics and try to understand what went wrong... CE2 looks horrible.

Pah! My bad. I've been on Pix for a while now, but obviously I missed a lot of stuff :P
Chaos Engine really is an obvious choice for CC. I'm really sorry that I wasn't there when it happened, guess I'll just read through it all.

Anyway, I think it is quite obvious what 'went wrong' with chaos engine 2. First, it was rushed, while the first game took forever to make. Second, Dan Malone has been known to make notoriously sterile artwork if he's given enough colors. Take a look at AGA version of chaos engine and you'll see how plastic it all looks. No hue shifts, and the color choices are... uninspired. This is also true for his more recent endeavors, Rebound (palm?) and Harry Potter (gba). His subpixelling is still impeccable but there's hardly any trace of the atmosphere conveyed in Cadaver, Speedball2 or Chaos Engine.

Quote:
"Chaos Engine Viewer allows you to browse the maps and sprites of the Amiga game Chaos Engine(...)"

Not only that, it allows you take a peek at how the game levels were scripted, and more. You can export all the graphics from the original amiga500 (16 color mastery!), atari st and amigaCD32 versions.
WHEN we decide to do a commercial critique of it one day, this tool will be invaluable :)

This is my second attempt at modeling in Wings3D.
Pretty proud I managed to cram the whole texture into 32x32 :)
C&C are welcome, of course!
