The shaded house doesn't read well. It's alright when zoomed in but normally the bricks look kinda diagonally placed.

I'think the nose's shade should be mirrored and you should get rid of that black japan-shaped dingy in the down right corner. Also I think that the eyebrow (is it?) goes too low in the midle. I'm talking about the first face.

Finally someone responded :yay:. I'm using dithering for the first time so I was expecting it to be criticised. I'm glad you think it's right, Crow.
You are reusing some colors of the face in the hair (or other way round, would be the same I guess). I dont think you should do that, since it looks somewhat weird.
Alright, I get it but what's wrong with it? I mean... Could you explain it more widely?
Also, his shoes look a bit too greenish.
Yeah, I've had problems with these >:(. I'll try to use some other shading.

Thanks! :)

Some of you may remember me. I was posting here for a while and then left for couple of months . I came back and maybe will stay for longer... what am I saying? Of course I will. I'm still learning so here's ma current exercise piece open for your critique.

The gray thing he's holding "is" a GameBoy. That's what makes him a GameBoy player  :hehe:.

[UPDATE]

Small update. Don't mind the cap... still. I know it sucks. I have problems with too big palette as always. 32 colors as far as I remember  :ouch:.

[UPDATE]

Still don't mind the cap. I ocasionally managed to merge some colours. There are 17 at the moment. I mentioned about 32 colours earlier... My PC must have lied to me :P.

Still waiting for someone to help me improve this :(.

[UPDATE] 19-03-2008

I finished it. It's pretty weird how he manages to play a game without a cart inserted . It still needs to be worked on but that's all I can come up with at the moment and without your help there won't probably be any improvement :(.

Here's my edit. I'm also not experienced and it's my first isometric piece but I hope it helps.

When making the floppy itself thinner you forgot to adjust the small holes depth. They are too deep.  The arrow should be one pixel deep, these two bottom rechtangles differ in size. Normally they go through the floppy but you could apply a bottom for the left one. The sticker looks weird. It's placed in some kind of hollow but at the edge it's thicker than the floppy. The metal sheath is too thick and it looks like if it was lying on the floppy's surface but it should wrap the floppy.

Blick,
For all your shadowing tips I would like to say that the light source is hitting my char in the line from his shoulder to hand (his left) so the shield won't drop so much shadow and the shadow of sword won't reach his right leg. I'm not saying that you wrong interpreted the lightning, It's rather me who made it wrong ;). Other thing... there are a lot more tweaks than just broken line and so on, and few of them I can spot right now. I'll make sure to take care of it while finishing work.

Helm,
 I wasn't expecting that. It looks like I have to do some serious stretching :blind:. Why are you telling me this so late :P?

Edited the legs, and tried some other folding. It sux even more.

small edit:
As I look at it now i think: aren't the legs now a freakin bit too long :mean:, or the arms too short?

His arm/arms (two if he's holding a gun in both of them) look like they were just going up and down. And the legs... you can see that the leg in the back is actually rising a bit to go forward but before it moves all the way forward to make a step it makes a short slide on the ground.

But some of them ar too similar, and it won't make diffrence wchich one you use so remove some of them and eventually use some adjustments on what's left. I may be not an expert as I said before but I know, that color limitations make every place in palette precious.
