Pixel Art / [WIP]Tileset + Map Editor
« on: April 12, 2008, 09:51:22 pm »
I've been recently working on a game, and I made an approach to make a tileset right now. Here it is.

C+C please. I'm aware of some issues by looking at it now, but It's too late to fix them. Maybe tomorrow. I'm also working on a simple Map Editor for my future games. For now all the tools are working besides the History system. It supports 64x208 tile sheets with 16x16 tiles. You can download it if you want, and you think it may help you test your tilesets. There are some known bugs but feel free to report.

Small documentation:
The config window should be self explanatory but there must be told that you should write all the names (Map and Tileset name) without the extensions of the files.

Tools:
Brush Tool - simply pick it up and draw;
Marquee Tool - use to select a rectangle;
Cut Tool - cuts selected area;
Eraser Tool - use it like the Brush Tool;
Copy Tool and Paste Tool - to use Paste you must first select area and press Copy button. After choosing any other tool, the Copy Tool will be released;
Move Tool - use to move selected area;
Crop Tool - use to crop the map after selecting desired space. It won't work if the selected area is smaller than the screen (edit space).
Undo and Redo doesn't work right now.

Use arrow keys to scroll.

Pixel Art / [WIP] GameBoy player
« on: March 16, 2008, 10:32:43 pm »
Some of you may remember me. I was posting here for a while and then left for couple of months :crazy:. I came back and maybe will stay for longer... what am I saying? Of course I will. I'm still learning so here's ma current exercise piece open for your critique.

The gray thing he's holding "is" a GameBoy. That's what makes him a GameBoy player  :hehe:.

[UPDATE]

Small update. Don't mind the cap... still. I know it sucks. I have problems with too big palette as always. 32 colors as far as I remember  :ouch:.

[UPDATE]

Still don't mind the cap. I ocasionally managed to merge some colours. There are 17 at the moment. I mentioned about 32 colours earlier... :crazy: My PC must have lied to me :P.

Still waiting for someone to help me improve this :(.

[UPDATE] 19-03-2008

I finished it. It's pretty weird how he manages to play a game without a cart inserted  :crazy:. It still needs to be worked on but that's all I can come up with at the moment and without your help there won't probably be any improvement :(.

Recently started to do a warrior sprite:

It looks kinda decent to me. I think the palette does not fit but I'm starting with pixels and am not so good at this stuff so I need your suggestions.
