Pixel Art / [WIP] Binoculars

It's been a loooong time since I've done any pixel art. I'm trying to ease myself back into it by just drawing some small objects.
Here's some binoculars:

Crit? Thanks!

This is the first I've heard of character maker 1999, I just downloaded it and it's fantastic! Exactly what I've been looking for, most other programs are either too complex or don't have features that I want.
Thankyou!

The perspective seems fine. Your shadows are a bit off, the light source is coming from the top left, but the solar panel on the roof has a shadow from a light source directly above, also the building itself doesn't have shaded walls.

Try colouring the edges (outline) of the middle of the building a light colour to give it more depth. Uh it's kinda hard to explain.

One other thing, because the wall with the wire finishes at the base of the building and because it has no texture, it looks a little bit like it's the footpath lying flat and the wire fence is sitting at the bottom of the building. I'd say give it some texture and/or raise it up or lower it a bit.

Pixel Art / Mad scientist!
« on: September 07, 2008, 01:20:10 pm »
I haven't done any pixel art ages (read: years) but lately I've been feelin a pixelly nag.
After trying to decide what to produce for hours I ended up just starting from scratch in mspaint with the pencil tool and this is what came out.

Or with more hair - can't decide which one.

Please ignore my doodles/notes on the edges.
It looks a bit silly just as half finished line art, but it's supposed to be wobbly like that.

I just need some feedback on the scientist - anything you think I've missed or I could add? He's obviously not meant to look realistic, so anatomy isn't really a hassle (unless I've gone horribly wrong).

Thanks in advance!

Mine's nothing special, just a basic pixel art version of The Son of Man by surreal artist René Magritte. I'm not game enough to try anything experimental just yet, this is the first completed piece of pixel art I've done in a number of years. So just a cartoony, simply piece to start off with.
Hope you like it.

Why is there a dryer in the kitchen?

Not bad, I like your brick and tile textures, but you got some weird perspective going on there. There seems to be several different vanishing points.
If you have buildings with dimension you need to use the isometric diagonal lines that are 2x1 pixels, rather than what you have here, 45° 1x1 pixel. But if you do use 45° lines, they should all be consistant ie. the roof and floor of a building would be parellel and the same length. Otherwise if you have a vanishing point (if you are new to art follow this link for a definition) all lines that are not horizontal of vertical should point to that.

Sorry if my c&c is a bit rusty, I haven't done it in a long time. :P

Keep up the good work! ;D
