well, I keep using the onion skin from graphicgale so I can keep a track of what exactly changed, then after that I just go on and on, test on normal speed, if I see something wrong I try to see what frame is the one with the problem and edit it, sometimes I just add a small number on the top right part of the frame so I can keep see the frame with the error easier, for animations and such, if they are tons of walking animations, lets say 10 human male same size animations I just make one and reuse it to save time and work on more important aspect, it really depends on what you are making in top down games they artist decided to add tons of frames to the walk animation of the hero since it is something you always see, while on the NPCs they just uses three frames  in which two are the same frame just flipped hah, if you are walking on plataformers well, you have to make all the animations look decent heh..

But in general I recommend you doing one base walking adn from that use it as reference on all the walking animations, same might work for the others like jumping attacking etc, either that or onion skin. Animation is a really long a tedious job, I am no expert at all so some of my advices might be noob-ish, but in all art related practice is a key, so keep trying and trying.

@Senevr:  how how how D; tell me how to improve the palette! well, what I tried to do is keep  RYB colors for mid tones while keep background and dark tones as CYMK just as experimental purpose but now that you mention it I might have to change that. I will update once I have more time to work on it D;.

I actually adore the stalactite, the other ceiling should be removed, it's to square for a natural cave, for the pillar, I guess it works if you add more stuff in that style ( for example roman/greek buldings blocks or decorative stuffs,) apart from that I guess it is really good I would desaturate some dark tones to see how it can look but sofar I like it, pleasant to the eye ;D

I beleive the pose looks really static compared to Elks first one(theone you post) remember that drawing consist on different stuffs, the pose is an important part to consider it gives the drawing more dynamic, something that is worth the shot, currently yours looks nice, but the face looks way to big compared to the body, also the face looks darkened , add more light tones to it

I started this mockup for a plataformer rpg game but now I dislike how the the hud looks and want to make things more dynamic, any ideas D;? this started to be used in game but I decided to quit the team >-<

(sorry for being x2 but the original image was x2 so I decided to keep it, this will be the last being x2  I promess!)


I am really lost on the background I wanted to add clouds and a white sun. but still not sure D;
the story I got is that you decide to destroy a flying pirate ship in which you are currently, so perhaps add a pirate looking enemy, not sure >-<
