2D & 3D / vector or hi res guidance needed

Well, this is more a thread asking for guidance than critique (yet it's also welcomed), I'm starting to make a game but instead of making it pixelart, the game will contain more high-res graphics-type, yet I'm not sure if keeping the high res art or move into vector, the art looks like this:

well, my questions are, should I stick with this or just move into vector art ? if I stick with this what programs do you recommend me for animation ( since photoshop is not a great animation program), if I go into vector what programs are there and what are they capable of?

I really want to continue the project but if I must move into vector I want to know it now before it's too late and I'm too lazy to remake all graphics in vector format, thanks for the help  :)!

I made this mockup for a friend, trying to show him how I would improve his game, he loved it yet I think I could improve it, and what other place than my beloved wayofthepixel to get some help:

top being his, and bottom mine.

I am really not sure what to do >_< I am not entirely happy but don't know what to edit, so please wayofthepixel help me pimp my ride art

I started this mockup for a plataformer rpg game but now I dislike how the the hud looks and want to make things more dynamic, any ideas D;? this started to be used in game but I decided to quit the team >-<
 (edit now at x1:)


(sorry for being x2 but the original image was x2 so I decided to keep it, this will be the last being x2  I promess!)


I am really lost on the background I wanted to add clouds and a white sun. but still not sure D;
the story I got is that you decide to destroy a flying pirate ship in which you are currently, so perhaps add a pirate looking enemy, not sure >-<

Thanks alot to people at #pixelation ;D! currently think I am working is the wolf so it fits the perspective, somewhat stuck on the turtle shield, the rock will be changed later, but still I am not sure if the tones are the correct, or if something else is looking weird. thanks!

Well, I have been working on this for two weeks now, and since this is the best place for pixel critiques I hope to get help :D :


The test are at x2 because the game will be played at x2 with gba resolution... sorry for posting it at x2 I will change that later.

Well, I have never been good doing textures, so I decided to do a rocky wall, here is what I have so far:

Well, I do like the texture but, it doesn't look that real, I want to use less than 16 colours on tiles and probably 16 in npcs and such.

Well, I have been spriting alot recently but since my monitor has alot of gamma problems I can't manage to sprite that good, so see my trash, sorta.

Well this was for a shooter, never comlpeted the mockup, eventhough I like how the rocks look.



Well, I made this just for fun, I remember posting this long ago, I just added more portraits.



This is an RPG effect inspired by Tsugumo Thread.

A cartoony style mockup, dunno for what probably for a RPG/Action game.



And the tiles, the mockup was made before this tiles so the tiles are better if im right..

Well, I have been working in this for a month or so <.< I know it doesn't look that great, but that's because I got some monitor problems( now fixed :D) this is what I got so far.

Well, i have always wanted to make a realistic tree, I read Tsugumo tutorial and studied the SD3
this are my results.

this is the progress.


final version, also, the trunk is ugly I know, I am more interesed in the leaves than in the trunk.
