That is very much improved.

Just a heads up: It is more useful too keep on project in a single thread that way everyone can follow the progress easily and avoid clutter in forums.

Here is a quick paint-over I did.

I used the same number of colors you did in your original, but I changed them. You had 3 nearly identical blacks and 2 very similar whites. When colors are that similar at this scale, they aren't helping you to add any information at this scale.

I adjusted some shapes, such as the pauldrons to be more interesting. I shifted the pauldrons forward because the left most arm (his right arm) appeared to be dislocated so far from the body.

I also shifted the vertical line in the visor forward one pixel to make it appear he is not facing straight at us.

I made the pose slightly more interesting by moving one hand forward onto the hilt of the sword.

I extended the tabard downward to give it more presence and to delineate all the grey.

Some of the places where you used black I used brown.

If you look at your pallete, you will see it is mostly blacks and whites. While it seems sensible to use lots of greys for steel, steel actually reflects a lot of the colors around it. For this reason, I used very de-saturated blues instead.

I also added a scabard to hint at the sword the knight would be resting his hand on.

Oh, also a shadow! :)

I hope this was helpful.

I just did a quick edit of your knight.

I pulled the shoulders back. The way the were before suggested a bend forward in the spine. I also removed some of the colors because they were too similar to adjacent colors and were basically unnoticeable. Finally I reshaped the helmet a little.

Yes, that is precisely what I was talking about. That looks cleaner already.

This is very helpful.

I hope I have understood you correctly.

I have lightened the roof up and the background as well.

Thanks! I added a chest to the side. I also made the roof larger per your suggestion. I think the roof being larger adds a lot, but I think I might remove the chest. I think I will just be more conscious in the future to avoid perfect boxes for buildings.

Ok, I have worked today an an updated version.

In this one I tried to incorporate a lot of what dpixel demonstrated.

In particular less detail in specific shapes and hinting at them with color, fewer line directly breaking up the shapes, and more control over the colors.

I like how alive the character looks.

One thing I would point out would be the outline of the character. Typically you don't let pixels create 90 degree angles on an outline. This is hard to explain, easier to show.

(btw, how do I add a image to my post? I uploaded my pixel art to Imgur and copied the link and put it between the img /img tags but it didn't work... help...)

You have to use the direct image link from imgur.
