Hi there everyone, ive been working on two differnt ideas for a game and have written a fair base to go off from in terms of what i want from it.

However, i have run into a problem. You see one idea for a game i have is a megaman clone which would be a simple first game for me. But the other idea for a game which i would prefer to do as ive written alot more for it will either be a rpg maker zelda-ish game or a mario and luigi clone.

I have next to none in terms of programming skill but i really want to try tp make well...something! Ive had these ideas bouncin in my head for almost a year and now i feel i should finally start working on them.

Sadly i have no idea which to start on. The one thats simpler, or the one that i want to do a little more but its harder.

Please let me know what you'd recomend i do. Thank you.

Ok well lets sort out a few things first such S what do you have done so far and what size your main sprites are as most artist like to know how much work a developer is putting in before they contribute a great deal of time to drawing for them.

Also it is good that your leaving the art style mainly to the artist but it would probably be better if you either made a style the artist will copy and simulate throughout the game or give a few samples of how you want your game to look, like a comparison to another game in terms of detail.

While it is good to give the artist creative freedom its still your game and your vision as a developer that will need to mold how the game looks.

Also, A short exaple of the story can help the artist aswell get an idea for what you might like in terms of sprites.

Hope this was detailed enough for what you'll need to do before artists such as myself come to help you get your game going.

Have a great day
-Parker.

I may be interested in helping you but i would need to know the level of quality your going for.

For example details like sprites, what kind you would prefer. Lets say Quote from cavestory is 1 and Alucard from castlevania symphony of the night is a 10. What number in that range would you prefer. An example image from another game can work too.

The game could still play like a castlevania game but have a differnt quality of art if thats what your goin for.

Anyway here is my portfolio-

Heya, the name's Parker. Im an earthbound style artist and im willing to help your project. Here is my portfolio, https://fanifacation.carbonmade.com my gmail is in the portfolio.

Im also going to give you some advice as well. Just so that later your not hurt by it I'll tell you, frankly put, 50-80% of the stuff in the concept images will probably be needing a huge overhaul on appearance and style. When it comes to a disign of something the entire game needs to keep the same looks.

For an example from undertale all battles have a very odd and simple style with bouncy movements. An example from earthbound is how all characters on the overworld have a similar apearence with the contrast with mosters only there to signify the level of difference there is.

Sorry, i bet that this sounds like a huge rant. Anyway, the basic point im coming to is if im gonna work with you i want it to be clear on styles as, in my own artistic opinion, its one of the most important parts to communicate.

Send me a message and we can discuss what you'd like me to do for you specifically.

Thank you and have a great day
-Parker.
