Yo!

I really liked what you did there. The dragon looks very good, I liked his face the most.

I've made some edits based on my personal taste so don't take it as some absolute truth  ;)

I've mostly messed with the colors and some minor stuff like the fingers, the shadow on the tail, the lighting on the tip of the wing.

Anyway, impressive!

Thank you MysteryMeat, the eyes were really a thing. I made some adjustments and I really liked the difference. About the nose bridge I fidled with it a little but most of my tries made a mess haha, so maybe it still has some problems.

Thank you eishyia, fixed the ears and eyebrows.

I've added some hue shifting since the palette was kinda boring. But the idea of adding color to the whole piece keeps banging in my head.

Made the hair highlights less bright

I'm also trying even harder with the AA

Well, I've made some progress in everything.

Changes include:
-I've gone fully monochromatic on the piece
 -Detailed hair
 -Mouth changes
-Eyes and eyebrows got some fixing
 -Some shapes got refined
-I'm trying my best at AA

I'm reaching a point where I can't quite put my finger on what seems different from the person portrayed. And when I change something I'm not sure if I made it more close to the person or if I'm going somewhere else. Is this how you know when to stop?

Hi! It's me again. Hope everyone is having a great week.

This time I'm here seeking the help of the pixel portrait gods! (not really, whoever feels that has a good point to make, I'll be more than happy to read :P)

As some may have noticed (I hope anyone notices), the portrayed person is Dave Bayley from Glass animals.

I think he is already recognizable enough, but I really want to portray him and get his expression right, which is the main problem in my opinion, I wish to give a subtle emphasis on sadness.

Here are some pics I used for ref:

Thanks in advance! Any critics are apreciated. Feel free to destroy it

Well I think you got a good start, the turret animation really looks nice.

I second on what Quake said about dithering and colors.

A place that often helps me especially with effects is saint11's patreon https://www.patreon.com/saint11

Other than that, I like to pratice separate subjects (example: metal, fire, explosions) before making something that uses these subjects (example: a Turret)   ;D

Hope this helps at least a little, and good luck pixelling! ;)

Very nice!  :y:

About the grass, I think it looks good. it might benefit from having some vegetation a little taller in front of/behind the characters to make the ground a little less flat

kinda like this, but much more discrete
