Steve: If you have time, could you put the link to my site in there as well? The adress is http://imson.deviantart.com/

Personally, I would tone down several of the colours in both bus pictures. You seem to have used very plain, basic colours and the yellow bars contrast the blue seats a lot. The red bus could also use some toning, It's allmost glowing imo. Also, I think you could put a little more work in softening down the lines. There are a lot of sharp edges here and there. You see it best on the yellow bars as they're so dominant in the overall picture.

Though, that's just one man's oppinion.

Well, some boards seem to prefer double posting, some don't. Well, now I know.
I suppose you're right about the old paper look. Just luck I guess. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the colours off the Boktai sprites since it seemed to bright.

Don't know how strict double posting is here, but I'll try this and see what happens.

Anywhoo. Wasn't being very productive yesterday, so I thought I'd have a go at this.

First up, Boktai Popeye. Had a hell of a time trying to find the games actual colours. Popeye's colour are taken straight off Django and the cowboy-like guy. Also done, because I wanted to limit the colour to what the Gameboy Advance uses. I also noticed that Popeye is pretty tall and lanky. He just fits the box limitations. It was hart do duplicate the Thick border and bright colour style without the whole thing looking ugly.

Little mock up shot. I manipulated a gameplay shot, reused the background to erase the status bars and used it to add more background below. that way, I could get both characters in there. Took more time than it needed to... but what the heck.
(Here's the original, I could only find a low quality shot though... http://img.jeuxvideo.fr/photo/00195784.jpg )

Don't know what style this is in. I guess I thought of those cartoon theemed games like Mickey Mania. I didn't limit colour eather. I've used all 15 here.

Had fun with this. Hope I can enter the next one.

Aww, damn. If I had seen this before I would have entered, no question. Some exelent entrys none the less.

Lookin' mighty fine there.

I know it's closed. Still, want to give it a go.

If I didn't read through it, I would have suspected someone was actually making a GBA-animal crossing follow up. That Micro pic is enough to make most people slap on the "authentic" label. The Golden sun transfer pic had the same effect.

I suddenly have an urge to make fake mockups now O_o

Hehe, yes. That's more or less what I was going to write. Or if you find it painstakingly slow, witchever is the case. For all I know, you could have used several years on that animation. Hence my question  ;)

Ah yes. I saw your DA page at som point. Blood and gore isn't really my field, but I really liked the way you animate and that movie was exelent. Just wonder if that style makes it quicker to make animated sprites.

I think I can confirm that "Fnøkt" means nothing at all. After all, I live there, and I've never heard of it O_o (and yes. I looked it up just in case) ;D

Good job on the picture. The inner mouth looks somewhat out of place in my opinion, but it's mostly because the rest of the picture is so well blended at the edges. Maybe add a third colour in there?

Helm: I think I can explain that. After it was about half done, I noticed that it was just to large compared to my other sprites. I'm not very happy with how the resizing went. The arms suffered the most and I couldn't quite figure out how to fix them. I'll look into it some more.

Dhaos: Hehe, veteran? Don't think I'm quite at that stage yet :P Well, I do have a Deviantart page, but I've yet to upload any pixel art. But here's the link if you (or anyone) is interested: http://imson.deviantart.com/
