Pixel Art / Re: My game's characters, feedback needed!

That's a great idea! I'm gonna get working on a coffee character right now.

As for the coloring, I'm not the best at it but here.  :)

Holy shit. Thats much, much better.
I like how the color fits his "angry" personality.
It's amesome use of highlights, maybe it misses a little shading?

Good thing i got the cup thing right, i wasn't sure of your style

Your friend is wrong.
Hitboxes are custom, they don't need to apply to the actual size of your sprite.
Else it would be impossible to kill a boss in megaman or castlevania :P
Nice sprites btw!

Well, don't get me wrong... but they are boring.
Try adding more colors.
It can be grayscale, but right now they just look like... letters.

Maybe if you use some symbolism, your creations can go a little higher.
Like this cup. And then make a game about breakfast. I don't know.

Okay, i tried to fix the pose a little bit and make him look more natural and less "buffed".
These are the original colors without the cyan contrast of the first image, so keep that in mind.
More black as shading, shortened the arms and added more details to legs.

Mock-up + one more color from highlight to shading

fuck, i forgot the visor thing  :'(

I made these new clouds a little while, thanks for the feedback I have just received from you!

I'll do more edits based in your feedback :)

Wow, i actually got your concept completely wrong, you're doing a horizon from the ground!
My bad.
And the clouds got a really good improvement, nice!

So here are my 2 cents, maybe you're trying to take a picture from your idea in a way too large scale, keeping it smaller and tight will make things to come together more easily.
Also, im not quite sure what you're trying to achieve with that gradient, are those mountains? Is that the sky? Anyways, heres what im trying to say:

It looks really really good to me. Only thing I'd say is I like the version you had on your website with the glow in the visor better than without it.
Thanks! Yeah well i turned it "off" for the color testing thing. Will make sure to include it on the next mock-up.

I mean, you can always use real pictures as reference, you know?
Heres one i quickly pixelated using secret tools

See how you did it inverted? Maybe that's whats bothering you.

Im no expert, but as far as im concerned, just adding more frames would make it look a lot better.
Really, single high contrasted pixels with a lot of frames creates a good impression of "sparks"

To prove my point:
This is from a kickstarter project called witchmarsch
