i really liked the brush....why not try something like this?

Well, I tried to add it, see if you like it.

If you want to emulate that sort of Popeye style, I recommend doing something like this:
  • Make the torso and waist area into a singular bean(?) type shape
  • Exaggerate the forearms, while making the upper arm and shoulders less significant
  • Smaller head
  • Shorter legs

Hope that helps you out with the style.

Thank you Khris  :)
Yeah, there are many different characters, each one with a different deformation, one is fat (like the guy in the pic), other is strong, so mostly the style, is that the male characters have short legs for the size of their body. Like, Waka has really thin arms.

----

Like I said, I was gonna redo him to try to match the style of the game, and I have corrected (hope at least) the mistakes I made in the other.

C&C   :D

Adarias:

Thank you  ;D I fixed the arm, but I won't post yet, I feel like revamping him from ground up.  ;D

VictorR:

Well, if you feel like it, do it  :). But I see why you saw a grenade.

Gnarf:

 ;) Kinda haha

Snake:

 ;D Thank you too.
I was trying to do like he was rotating his upper body. I did the pose myself, but when I started pixelling, I messed the legs up.
I appreciated your edit, and I'll try to fix the points you've made.

Godslayer:

Thank you  :) Yeah, his proportions are messed up, because that's how the game is, but I didn't quite manage (i'm really off  ) to imitate the art style

TheAbyss:

Thank you. And I was going to do him holding a gun, but I left him weaponless
(off: its pretty good, almost awesome)

VictorR:

There is no grenade, and his is leaning forward ( not to the screen, towards the side he is looking )

Adarias:

I fixed the arm, but I won't post yet, I feel like revamping him from ground up.

Well, I'm in a much better shape now, but I don't know how to AA it, so it isn't nearly as smooth as the others.

Good stuff. Great anatomy, pose and shading.
Minor gripe - I think the blue dots break the smoothness of it though. I'd change the blue to a slighty lighter, less saturated one. The dots just steal the attention from the rest at some points (namely, the larger dots).
+5 credits for doing a purple dude. Purple, that oftenly forgotten color.

Thank you for your time to comment on my piece, and for the compliments =)

The color issue is mostly because of the first version, but I shall fix it.
1st Version

And I didn't knew purple was forgotten  ;D

aw, i thought this was going to be a firefly/serenity piece from the title

second what turbo said about the purple, purple is the king of colors

the pose feels slightly strange, as though he is falling backwards; id suggest moving his right leg back a bit and angling it out to make up for the backward motion.  when a person leans back, its really a combination of pushing their shoulders back and their pelvis forwards; otherwise you just fall.

does the lower body feel a bit big to anyone else?  this feels like foreshortenning which increases the feeling of unbalance.  shrinking the legs will probably do as much help as shifting the pose

First of all, thank you for comment =)

Really? Is there a Mister Universe in it?

About the pose:

I tried to do it myself, and indeed felt really awkward. The pelvis and abdomen should come forward, but mine is straight. And his left leg should form a smaller angle. I'll work on that.

And yes, his upper body is smaller. I tried to give a better impression that he was leaning back, and that was one of the "solutions" I found. But probably I didn't quite managed to make it right, so I'll fix that too.

Arms=Extremely puny.

Nice, though, and ditto to what Adarias said.

Thank you too for your comment and compliment =D
I explained the arm/upperbody question above.

Thank you guys for the great comments and criticism.

I'll edit this post tomorrow with the fixes.
