Hmm, I think I've invested at least 15-20 hours into my project by now. Been working on it over the last few days in 2-3 hour chunks.

I'm starting to get tired of the piece and cutting some corners, and I can tell. Best finish it quickly before my quality collapses even further.

I'm maybe 50% done with mine. Going for an ambitious piece this time, and it's taking me longer than usual- though I /am/ learning plenty of new techniques and tricks along the way.

I signed up specifically to get in on this. Should be fun!

I really like mechas, super robots, pilotable humanoid techno-knights of the future, etc. Some specific series which I think have REALLY cool designs are Gurren Lagann, Five Star Stories, Linebarrels of Iron, Zone of the Enders, and Star Driver. One of my favorite motifs is that of mechanical versus organic designs- I love seeing the two interplay with mechanical traits and organic traits fusing, or mechanical designs emulating organic shapes and styles. My preference for character design definitely trends towards the unrealistic or fantastical, favoring more anime-esque designs over realistic or historically accurate equipment. Lots of glowy stuff, too.

Mockups are cool. Boss battle scenes are even cooler. I'm a big fan of strategy games, puzzle games, and platformers- games where I don't have to keep moving, where there's relatively little pressure. (Competitive games like COD aren't my thing, they don't let me relax and unwind.)
