Your not to far from, save a few technical details. If you did want to do true pokemon style, you can see that they tend to be less shaded, and if they are more like cel shading. They also are very simple and the colors tend to be bright.

Alrighty. :]] Will do. I'm working on another edit atm, trying to fix the dithering problem. I'll hit it up in a bit.
Left is with dithering, the right image is without. Still looks wrong to me though.

I sincerely apologize for the color grab, color has always been my weak point. I guess I didn't see an issue if credit was given, but I do see how color selection will help me more than anything else. I'll work on palette selection throughly in my future pieces. Again, really sorry if I angered anyone, totally wasn't my intention to steal credit for a piece, idea, or palette.

Well, it's not totally illegal to be inspired when you see someone else's piece? I gave credit where it was due. It's done differently, every pixel was done by hand. I
m a learning pixeler, and one thing I do is examine other people's styles and works. I was just viewing art at pixeljoint, when I came across this piece. I really liked the piece, and I got an idea when I saw it. It's like if someone saw x cartoon character and sprited it.

Yeah, I got a bad habit when I first started pixeling of just sliding paint's color selector to get new colors. Like the lighter/darker slider.
