Pixel Art / Re: WIP castlevania style prac

thx all

Yeah, these are pretty big...I mean, if you plan on adding pixel-level polish, I'm not going to stop you, but you might want to think about a smaller, more manageable canvas.

Also, I'm curious: if you are trying to learn the "castlevania style", but the reference picture you are using to do so is your own, how do you expect to learn anything? :S I'm confused.

perhaps the reference picture made, was referenced from another reference picture? o.0.. anyways I would definitely recommend making this piece a lot smaller. If you really plan to polish this on the pixel level, be my guest, but that will take a very, very long time. As a painting, though, this is quite nice. so far, at least.

about the size, i used to work from 2x image and then bring it down to 1x,
so it will be like 1/4 of the size after i build the shape out

Why was it used : Often this is very hard to guess, so I will give you the answer.  Red is a very strong, warm color, so I used it in the outlines to make the characters rise in front .....

thx a lot. very helpfule, I wish you can give more tips like this

I also love the one where you used the framework to help with isometric animation. great technique

thx, is this looks better? and should i do dither to the shading if i have enough colors to work with?
No. Dithering would not only look nasty but be a real pain to animate. Just clean it up, man, you've got jagged edges galore.

Thx. I hasn't do any cleaning yet.....
each character has like 60-80 frames now :'(
so much cleaning to do.............

do you suggest to do cleaning while progressing?

i also wondering if the resolution affects it ???

it would require a bit of reworking, but you could move him so that he is not covered by the player character (diagonal to each other) or you could scale him down and keep him the same distance away.
