General Discussion / Re: Hi, I recorded a video of myself pixelling.

Thanks for sharing! I was completely unaware of the painting and it's story.

Your process looks very logical, with just the right amount of search. It's interesting seeing the coiner of cluster theory work- and seeing the evolution of the palette throughout the image's creation makes me aware of my own lack of experimentation- perhaps in small part due to my software of choice ( photoshop).

Would you mind if I shared this on the pixelation twitter?

I just edited your post to show the image with the [img] tag :] A usually fool proof way to do it is to right click on an image and choose " copy image address" and paste it in between the tags.

Pixel Art / Re: [C+C] [Feedback] NES 8Bit Pokemon

As a note, I personally like to think of Commercial Critiques as perpetually active! Lots of cool stuff happened in the Pokemon CC, and I'd never be opposed to more of it happening!

As for your piece, is there any reason you're going with such small sprites? Very few games would have such a screen: sprite ratio except for maybe some tactics games.

Here is a hack make of Pokemon Yellow for NES, utilizing graphics from multiple series that might be of interest:

It's been a long time since the actual resolution of a screen mattered for pixel art. As long as people are looking at 2D screens, pixel art will be a viable, if niche, medium.

This is beautiful! Great to see your process and preparation, basically a full fledged illustration done in pixels! I did prefer the earlier, simple clouds, but this solution works too. Thanks for sharing!

Pixel Art / Re: anime faces

Pixeled anime faces are a very specific art. I think one of the best things to do is look at some inspirational examples. This artist has a lot of great ones:

Work on improving your fundamental art skills so that you have a solid base, and look at work like this to improve specifically in this subject.

Keep going! I only have a general sense of whats going on in these screens. Would be nice to see everything more fleshed out so we can get a better sense of how the game works and what might should be changed ui/ design wise.

This is the same one they always do, right? I think I've bought it twice and their servers crash whenever everybody tries to redeem everything. Still a great deal though!
