after downloading that timanthes program ive been trying my hand at some c64 stuff, sorry for the canvas sizes as most are wips

heh, one of the blues brothers.

the first image i made, trying to make the timanthes icon

also another wip, im just in love with cloaks

. mainly just playin around with this one

so what are youre thoughts? do you like, dislike, do i shame the pixel community?

i was lookin at some stuff at gfxzone, and got totally inspired. so far this is the result. i dont know what im going to do with the colors yet, i think i might use some of (forgot his name)'s colors for inspiration

will be doing the left and right poses soon

once i did these i really liked how they came out.

gave it a proper background and tidied up some things on the facing north sprite

an update:

finished the side poses and another pallette form(not to sure about it, the first one has almost complements but you cant really have a complement of white)

the tiles of course, the reflection is just there, but if it were to be in a game it would be like coded or something.

General Discussion / i think im stuck at my current pixel skill level

i think i have a great foundation of lots of pixel tecniques. ive read most of the tuts, some i keep coming back to( tsugomos tuts in my opinion have the best re-read value), but i want to get much better. oddly i had a dream about a game im making and in it the graphics were perfect and at a peak of proffesionalism. this made me decide to try and get better, but i just dont know what i can do
any help?

after all the critiques given by helm on my earlier sprite i was like" oh well, its just for fun"
but then i remembered that one of my new years revolutions was to strive in my art endeavors and i wouldnt want to lose a resolution THAT quickly. noting that i should wait till ive drawn that character i made this instead. which right now i think shows my anatomy knowledge much better. i hope to get rid of all errors at a basic stage so that it wont haunt me later. i would greatly appreciate edits and critique of any sort and i need most help on the hands the knee joint area and his feet. note his right arm is purposefully pumped up like that .

this is just an art of my character, so far a few hours of work put into it. im going for a semi-dark mood and i really want to up my shadows and texture (especially on the cloak, i want to find a good texture teqnique for the cloth)

Pixel Art / greyscale sprite, shading exercise

i have a sprite and i did it in a monotone scheme and now i want to color it, if i just choose a new pallette that would take away from it and things might not have the shading as they would in the original greyscale.
well, anyway here it is and crits and comments definitely appreciated
