General Discussion / Re: Introductions

I think I just posted in a thread like this here yesterday. Am I losing it?  I hope not -- I like having "it".

Anywho, I'm the jerkass some of you know from the old Pixelation, Pixel Joint or DA. I'm nearly twice as old as a lot of you which sickens me. If you really want to know more about me (and really, who doesn't?) you can visit my evite profile which I just finished creating...

Careful, it might be considered mildly sexy/offensive.

I recognize a lot of names here... I was semi-regularly posting on the old Pixelation board for about a year before it crashed. Got to know a few of you peeps there and quite a few more over at the other pixel hangouts (pixel dev, pixel joint, pixel academy, pixelerate, DA, etc).  There've been some great pixel artists in each of those places, but none has quite captured the whole Pixelation crowd so I'm stoked it's getting a revival.

Kudos to the Pixelation people (especially that Peppermint Pig) for working to get the new Pixelation going.

I hope Pixelation has some sort of super secret security where the President and Secretary of Defense of Pixelation have to turn keys simultaneously to get to the server.  :-X

ptoing: BrotherInWar was spot on with what I was trying to say about the plugs. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

Edit: Thank you very much for sharing the C64 background and your WIP animation process.

Dangnabit. All my free time for IRC is during the day (office drones have lots of spare time) and it's freaking firewalled.  :P

I'll have to find some time at night to get on.

I understand breaking up responsibilities and motivating people to work on things. That is definitely a great part of this  whole thing and hopefully it will result in dedicated help for the forum.  What I was getting at is that I think it would kind of suck if the only thing driving people to collaborate is a taste of power. Heh. ;D

Even if you are not part of the mod or 'temporary member council' (sorry, forget what it's called) you could still be an active part of a community and present all kinds of neat ideas right?

In any case, all hail Panda and his glorious vision for the board!

The problem is that you're not using a fixed width font so a 'W' takes up a lot more room than an '.' so you can't do exact counts to determine line counts.  You also have to take into account breaks and all that. Not that hard, but it won't be exact.

Love the idea and it would be fantastic to have it coded perfectly to keep vertical matching perfectly, but the more I think about it -- it seems like fixed inline frames or expanding div tags with height attirbute is the only way to keep the vertical elements tight.

Absolutely gorgeous color work and a really cool composition. THe only crit I have is that the plugs look like they should have the ends coming towards so we can see the bottom of them.

I agree with Silver. So nice to see a great pixel artist's step by step.  What application do you use to save the stages of the work in an animation?  Do you save each step as a file or layer and then animate it or is their something that automates it for you?
