I would remove the black outline from the star since it's not defining any negative space or anything, just pasted on. I think if you shaded it a little more so that it looks form-fitting that would be pretty cool.

I spruced up a sprite I made for an old gamemaker game I was planning on making.  She's some kind of "guardian" Christmas elf.  I can't remember the story or anything, but her name was "Chickadee" and she had a handgun and bazooka (named "Holly") for weapons.  I liked the animation, so I thought I'd post it.  Crits?

Haha... I love how alkaline assumes I'm a guy. :P

It's ok if Terley edited the original, he probably didn't see the note at the end (which I added later).  Like I said, I just don't want to misrepresent myself by having something in my portfolio that I can't take complete credit for.  Critiques are more vague, so I feel like I can still take credit for the piece.

Xion: I'll take a look at some refs... I'm just trying to think of what animal to reference..  ???

Round off the corners on the ground tiles?  Or is that sort of like a trade-mark of the style?  To me it looks kinda out of place with the roundness of many of the other objects (trees, clouds, rocks, etc.)

I like it.  I think I would give the outlines a little more contrast, especially where is hand is in his pocket and the front brim of his hat.  Also, I would make the hat a bit rounder considering the angle.

I think you can probably cut down your colours... I think the second-lightest color could probably go.  Since you have such a narrow color scheme you can afford to cut down on colors, and it will save you some work when you're redoing the other angles.

And for the down walk cycle, I would put the feet more one in front of the other.  Not like he's walking a tightrope, but people don't usually walk with their feet apart like that.

I updated it a bit... I think it looks better, but keep the critiques coming!  Thanks for the critiques so far!

First off, I don't know what kinda monster it is... I guess it's like some kind of boar?  I wanted to work with a limit of 4 colors, but I ended up adding a highlight color in the end.  I'm pretty proud of it, but I'm looking for critiques! :)

Version 2:

Edit:  Thanks for your compliments and critiques! I updated as per suggestions here (and deviantart) and changed it a bit to give it more depth and make it's stance look a little more solid.  I think I need to stop working on it for now (I have a baaad habit or overworking things... >_-) but keep the critiques coming! Thanks :)
