Shouldn't the wall on the right be lighter and the wall on the left be darker, as your shadows are going towards the right wall? It looks like you have a light source at the top right and the bottom left. I dnno if I'm wrong...

Damn, my bad.

I thought it was different because at first I googled sprite art tutorials (or something like that...) and I landed on the tutorial page. I never saw the home page.

Well, does anyone have any more critisism?

(The eyes turned out transparent... I don't know why, as my transparent color is purple...)
It isn't for any specific game, but I thought it would be good to try this out.

I was going for a very relaxed look... Does it work?

I might need help shading the beanie. At the moment it looks a bit too... cyllindrical. Maybe I could try and dither it, and see how that looks. And I could have raised his hand-in-pocket a little bit, maybe. I also forot to shade the arms... Is it common to only only notice these things once I actually post them? ;D

This is only my third piece, and it shows. So blast all that constructive critisism my way, I take it with open arms :D

anti-aliasing the outside of your sprite onto a white background may in fact prevent it from being an actual sprite at all, except in special cases when it may be a symbol or inventory item that would have its own background. Sprites traditionally (and on many systems it is hardcoded this way) have an alpha component in their palette that makes anti-aliasing the outside edge fruitless and impossible.
Unless another sprite is used as an alpha channel.

Needed an avatar... so... yeah...
Took me about 45 minutes. It uses 16 colors.

Looking at it now, I think I could have gone with a darker green...

Thanks for the suggestions, and the welcome!

Improvement?

And I think I found a suitable animator, GiFFY.

Not very big, but I thought I should start small. Dunno if I should animate it?

Also, can somebody recommend a freeware GIF animator?

Constructive criticism?
