Pixel Art / Re: Some Graphics for my RPG game.

The grass is totally textureless. It should have some depth to it, and the things that are in the grass just look like they're floating over a green floor or something. I think the final edit is quite good, it just needs some refinement. I like the color choices pretty well in that one too. Good luck.

Nice work. And the reason they look different is because Mac gamma is different from PC gamma.

You've definitely improved your tree trunk, and I've got to say that the water is a lot better than anything I could do. I'm not really qualified to give you any suggestions, but I would say that white outlines on your characters are not something I would do. Also, the tree's leaves still look wrong. It's still too integrated to the point where it almost looks like a round object rather than something made up of hundreds of small leaves. The ground is pretty cool. I would suggest making the grass more lush, and adding more depth to the sides of the rocks.

personally, I liked it a lot better without the outlines. Without, it really reminded me of a 70's cartoon, which is a style you don't (ever?) often see in games.

I like it. It's weird. I'd actually really like to see a larger piece in that theme.

that would make a pretty sweet game. I bet the background will be awesome when done.

I like it a lot. It shows a lot of depth overall, bu, the grass is way too flat and lack texture. The rocks do too, but I don't think it requires too much work other than adding texture to the rocks and the grass.

I was searching for sub-pixel work the other day and I couldn't find anything this cool. I'm really impressed.

I really like it. I completely disagree that it needs more contrast. I really like the color scheme as is. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

i chose them because i wanted to have shading done with secondary colors (green, purple, orange), a yellow highlight (for the sun) and a red shadow (because hot shadows being an object forward)

That's good to know. It's interesting because some people say shadows should use more blue, but you say use more red. I never would have thought to use red but it really grows on me after a few looks.

other materials :

there is deviance within all materials, but in general:

metal, glass, water = high shine and reflection
leaves, polished stone, wet wood = some shine, little reflection
grass, rough stone, dry wood = little shine, little reflection

Thanks for your edit. Do you think you could give me any more pointers? You can do anything and I'd love it, but I'd really like to see what you would do with the door. Any suggestions?
