General Discussion / Re: Looking for someone to collab with.

There was a game i played as a child where you have a piece of paper folded into three sections - someone would draw the head, another the body and the last person the legs.  However each person does not see what the other draws until the end when you have a weird looking creature.  It would probably require a rough templete though.

That's the cadavre exquis which Rydin mentioned. ;)

Stewlin's idea is nice. I'd be up to it.

Art is usually made by one person

Yeah, like that is true...I know a lot of great artists who do collaborations all the time and that doesn't mean they stopped making art when they joined. There are people who do most of their work along with someone else!

I'm not going to say anything about this now, for my opinion is not yet totally defined. I'll see where this goes to and maybe speak later...

Well, I got a bit of money (which was nice since I'm saving for a new computer), Black Orchid by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean, a book whose name I don't remember, a sweatshirt I'll never use and...that's it. Was nice seeing all the kids in my family getting all they wanted while I got (almost) nothing.

EDIT: Oh yeah, almost forgot, I also got a webcam which doesn't work on my computer! YAY!

That's so amazing.

@snake: I was wondering, do you have any progress shots of that? They'd be really usefull...

Actually, I think you can do something nice with this...maybe you can turn it into a pseudo-gothic image, with bats and blood and stuff :P Either way, you should probably take refinement to the next level, aa-ing where needed, dithering and adding details. I made a small edit to exemplify this:

You should maybe try a more interesting pallete and make better usage of your colours. On your image, you seem to have a pallete for the eyes and another for the skin...notice how I tried to use colours from the skin on the eye and vice-versa. That helps unifying the image and usually gives better results. Try it!

happy feet turned out to be a much better movie than I was expecting  :y:

Actually, I hated it. Very nice in terms of aestethics, but the story was really awful. It felt like some pseudo-religious movie.

General Discussion / Re: Can your parents draw and how is your eyesight?
« on: December 21, 2006, 08:30:53 pm »
My father is a professional artist and my mother is an arquithect, so both of them draw quite well...my father is better though. I think there was a time, few years ago, in which both of them wore glasses/contact lenses, but I think my father doesn't anymore. My mother probably does because she spends too much time on the computer at work.
I never had any sight problems, even though they sometimes hurt when I spend too much time on the computer. And there was a time in which I had alot of troubles seeing TV and did, involutarily, something weird with them...

Plus I cand do odd stuff with my eyes.

More contrast is the key. Although you should've been able to find that for yourself, you talented bitch :P

I did an edit to show, since I'm not good with words:

I tried to give *more* hints of hue to the greys, to make it look more interesting (blues/greens for lighter colours, browns/purples for darker ones). Upped contrast as well, for everything was muddy. Got rid of one useless colour and tried to make a better usage of two other colours you seem to have forgotten to use throughout the body  ???  Aside from that I only tried to improve the aaing.

It is a good piece. I just think you should've given a bit more thought to some of your choices...but maybe it was a time issue, I dunno. Anyway, I'll be waiting to see what you make out of this ;)
