Doppleganger - Wow, that's a perfect example of positive life changes! It's not often the people you know move with you too. Just last year, I moved away from a rather large to city to a tiny spec on the map. Unfortunately, I haven't made any friends in a town of less than 1k people. Most of them are rednecks.  Luckily, I'll be going back to uni this Spring so the making friends part should be easier.

--------

Wow, I haven't been to Pixelation in a long time. I've been lurking every now and then. In the past couple of years I've been doing pixel art sparingly but my need to be creative in many ways has tempted me to do it more often now. Just today, I spent the whole of it practicing. Fun. Anyway, I'm hoping to be more active here and post some stuff for critique soon.

I've been drawing from Sara Simblet's "Anatomy for the Artist". Here's one of them turned into a digital piece:

Also a movie called Fantastic Planet, a sci-fi animated film about humans as pets to aliens. I haven't seen the whole things but from what I saw was pretty creepy.

Fantastic Planet was more than creepy. It's surreal, psychedelic, and dark. The environment is strange and the blue giants are even stranger. It's a good story and the animation reminds me of Monty Python's animated bits. I recommend it if you're up for a nice little trip (without the help of drugs...). You can watch it in english on YouTube.

Boy, every movie on here that I've seen is actually what I'd consider a favorite. I need to watch the rest! :-)

Also:
The Iron Giant
Paprika
and Spaceman

Paprika is awesome! Iron Giant was good too but I got tired of it when Cartoon Network played NON-STOP!

It happened in a place least expected. </reiterate>

I've been reading on this, it seems there have been many flags that this guy has raised (ie personality, playwrites, etc) but everyone just seemed to have shrugged it off. edit: There are exceptions, though. One the professors, I believe, actually referred him to the counselors. Not that it's important to me, I'd really like to know what drove him to do this...

I was actually going to a university to major in art but for me, I didn't want to spend too much money and take unrelated class (even though it broadens our scope) so I've moved to a community college to do graphic design and web design. Plus, they have this one class we have to take that allows us to work with professionals. I don't know how that's going to be but I'm sure it'll help.

I was told by a graphic designer that employers don't really care what kind of degree you have just as long as you have one even if it's just an associates degree. Who knows, I might go for a BA or BFA and even to MFA. But if I can actually move up with just an associates, then I'll just stick with that.

Adam has definitely good points.

XD I love your tattoo. It's simple, but cute.

Here's what I'd like on my back:

She is Tomoe Gozen one of the famous onna bugei sha (not female samurai). I'm no warrior but I'd like to be stronger and all that mumbo jumbo. Yeah!

This website is probably one of my favorites. I guess it's the cosmos freak in me.  ::)
