She seems to have very thick knees.  And, yeah, her bust is too perky.  Bringing them down may help with the face.

I don't agree that it needs hue shifting.  I think that would take away from the cartoony feel, which I really like.  I think it's adorable, and I'd play a game with her as a character.

Wow, she looks scary now.  Her eyes glow in the dark.  But it's good, and I like the way you did the nose.

You're right, it's very awkward.  Maybe something like this will work?

Challenges & Activities / Re: Palette Workshop Challenge

Well, here's my attempt.  I had the hardest time with the pyramid, I couldn't make it look yellow without making it glow in the dark.  Never worked with a palette I didn't pick out myself and I've never been a big fan of dithering, it's been an interesting experience.

General Discussion / Re: Introductions
« on: February 27, 2007, 12:47:39 am »
Not sure how to start this introduction thing.  I've been pixelating for years, but it's been mostly fluff work.  I'd like to do it for a living though.  Most of the communities I found before now were altered sprites, so  I'm excited to find a comunity like this where you see some really hardcore original work.  It'll be nice to have people around who can help me improve, and hopefully I can contribute a little too.  At the moment I'm really intimidated, the stuff here rocks.

If you mean to ask what is making the lightsource inconsistent, yes, the selective outlining is part of it.  Having it on only one side of an item gives a definite direction to the light.  If you look at the mid part of her dress, it looks like the light is coming from the front, but if you look at her feet, arm and face, it looks like its coming from the top right.  Maybe you should put the moon in first, as it will determine the light source for you.

A single pixel of white in the darkest area of her eyes would help.  Where is your lightsource exactly? It's inconsistant.  Maybe this is what you were going for?

Both of the pupils are shaded exactly the same, but one is more in shadow.  Try making the shine area smaller on that one.  It should help with the popping out of his head look.  I really love how the hair turned out.

Sharm: Can not have more aa there, 2 colours per each 8x1 block, try it.

I feel stupid now, I missed that in your first post.  I put a grid on it to see what you were talking about and I am extremely impressed.
